- Uppgifterna lagras i EU.
Privacy in Drevet
English · Terms · Last changed 2026-10-25
Who is responsible: Drevet is run by Tero Sassi as a private person, not by a company. Tero Sassi is the controller for accounts and login, and the processor for each hunting team's data (see the agreement below). Contact: info@drevet.app.
Short version
- Your position is shared only while the hunt is on, and only with your team. The last position is erased 12 hours after the hunt ends (unless the team chose to keep tracks for replay).
- Data is stored in the EU. The database and live hunts' positions are stored and processed only within the EU.
- Never to landowners or authorities unless the team itself chooses to share, for example with a season report that shows totals only, no names and no positions. We only hand anything over if the law forces us to, and then we tell the team if we're allowed to.
- Nothing is sold and no ads are shown. Drevet is free and runs on voluntary donations.
- You decide: download or delete your data yourself under Team → Settings → My data.
What we store
- Account: name, email address, a colour and, if you add it, your phone number. If you log in with Google or Facebook we also store your account id there, and your name and email if they share them.
- Team: which teams you belong to and your role, the hunting grounds, stands and markers the team draws, the team's quota.
- Hunts: hunt plans, stand assignments, your answers to hunt calls (yes/no/maybe, dog), chat messages and reports (sightings, shots, kills, wounded game) with place, time and shooting direction.
- Location: while the hunt is on, your position is shared with the team while sharing is on, and on Android your battery level too. Before the start and after the end no position is sent or accepted. The latest position is kept so people who join can see where everyone is, and is erased 12 hours after the hunt ends. In the Drevet app, sharing carries on while the screen is locked or the app is in the background, so the team sees you through the whole drive; a notification shows it is on, and it stops when you turn sharing off or the hunt ends.
- Work days and meetings: your answers to calls, who attended, tasks at stands and towers, and inspections with name, date and an optional photo.
- Files: statutes, minutes and inspection photos the team uploads. They are kept until the hunt leader removes them; avoid photographing people.
- Team money and meat: what you owe the team and have paid, as entered by the hunt leader, plus meat lots and trichinella results. You see only your own balance; the hunt leader sees everyone's. Drevet handles no money.
- Tracks for replay: only if the hunt leader turns it on, positions during hunts are kept so the drive can be played back. The live map shows it, and the tracks are deleted after the team's retention period. You can choose that your tracks are never saved, under Team → Settings → My data.
- Bookings: which tower, stand or ground you booked, when, and whether you checked in and out. No position is shared. Deleted after the team's retention period.
- Documents: if you add them, which hunting documents you hold (such as a hunting card or shooting test) and when they expire. No copy, number or photo. The hunt leader sees only green or red for the documents the team requires.
- Donations: are made on an external page the app links to. Drevet receives no payment details and stores nothing about the donation.
- Safety records: who signed the safety briefing, who confirmed their gun unloaded and what was done during a search for wounded game, with names and times. These can't be edited afterwards.
Login codes and login keys are only stored as one-way hashes.
How long
- Positions and chat are deleted automatically once the team's retention period after the hunt is over: 90 days unless the hunt leader picked 30, 180 or 365.
- Guests who haven't answered a hunt call in that time are removed from the team.
- Reports and statistics are kept as long as the team exists, as they're needed for quotas and reporting.
- Safety records (sign-offs, unload confirmations, tracking logs) are kept as long as the team exists, in case something happens.
- The link for the tracking dog team stops working 48 hours after the shot.
Who sees it
Only members of the same team see the team's maps, hunts, chat, answers and positions. When a search for wounded game starts, the team can share a link with the tracking dog team; it shows the shot site and the names and phone numbers of the shooter and the hunt leader, for 48 hours. We don't sell data and show no ads.
Where the data is
The database and live hunts' positions are at Cloudflare in the EU jurisdiction: they are stored and processed only in data centres within the EU. The app itself is delivered from the Cloudflare data centre nearest you.
Services we use
- Cloudflare runs the app and the database (database and positions within the EU).
- Resend sends login emails and booking reminders (your email address). Resend is a US company.
- Alarms to your phone: if you turn alarms on, they are delivered by the phone's own push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla). In the browser and on the home screen the message is encrypted so only your phone can read it; the service only sees that something is sent. In the Drevet app, alarms go through Google Firebase, which sees the alarm's text (for example who raised an SOS) but no position.
- GPS collars: if you make a collar link, Drevet receives the dog's position from the service you connect yourself, and shows it only in your teams' ongoing hunts, the same way and for the same time as a dog you place by hand. The link is stored only as a fingerprint, and you can remove it at any time.
- Trail camera pictures are shrunk on the phone and sorted by species by an image model at Cloudflare (Workers AI), which may run outside the EU. Pictures with animals are stored in the EU and only the team sees them. Empty pictures and pictures showing a person are not kept, only what they showed. Whoever added a picture and the team leader can remove it.
- Voice reports are turned into text by Cloudflare's speech model (Workers AI), which may run outside the EU. Only when you press the microphone. The audio isn't stored, and the text is only kept as the report you choose to send.
- Google and Facebook, only if you choose to log in with them.
- Open-Meteo provides weather forecasts; we send an approximate location (two decimals) of the hunting ground or your position.
- OpenStreetMap, OpenTopoMap and Esri deliver map images directly to your browser. They see your IP address and which map area you look at, but not your name or where the team stands.
Text messages you send through Drevet go from your own phone, not through us.
Downloading or deleting your data
In the app, under Team → Settings → My data, you can download everything we store about you as a file, and delete your account. Deleting removes your name, email, phone number and logins at once, and deletes your chat messages, answers and positions. Your reports stay in the team's statistics without your name. Signed briefings and tracking logs keep the name you signed with, as they are the team's safety record.
The hunt leader can remove a member from the team; that deletes the member's answers and positions in the team.
You can also email info@drevet.app from the address you log in with. We reply within 30 days. You can remove Drevet's access in your Google or Facebook account's app settings.
Data processing agreement for hunting teams
This agreement is between the hunting team (controller, represented by the hunt leader) and Tero Sassi, who runs Drevet as a private person (processor, "Drevet" below) for the data the team enters about its members and guests. It applies from when the team is created in Drevet.
- Purpose: Drevet processes the data only to provide the service to the team: planning, hunt calls, maps, position during hunts, safety features and statistics. Not for advertising and not for its own purposes.
- Instructions: the team's instructions are the choices the hunt leader makes in the app, such as the retention period and who is in the team.
- Confidentiality and security: data is encrypted in transit, login keys are stored only as hashes, and only the team's members have access in the app. Only the person who runs Drevet has access to the hosting, and treats the data as confidential.
- Sub-processors: Cloudflare (hosting; database and positions in the EU jurisdiction), Resend (login emails, US) and Google Firebase (alarms to the Drevet app: a device key and the alarm's text, US). Changes or additions are announced on this page in advance.
- Help with rights: members can download and delete their own data in the app; the hunt leader can remove members and download the sign-off log.
- Incidents: if a personal data breach affects the team, Drevet tells the hunt leader without undue delay.
- Ending: when the team stops using Drevet, its data is deleted on request, after the hunt leader has had the chance to download it.
- Audit: the team can ask for the information needed to show the agreement is followed.
